Reese wore two pairs of underwear to school today. I lay his clothes out and he dresses himself. He knew was wearing two pairs but, thought it might be a good idea.

I never noticed!

He was uncomfortable all day. He didn't want to tell anyone, so he kept them on. As soon as he walked in the house he told me.

Five year old boys can do some really wierd things.

On my oldest's first day of Kindergarten, he put his pants on backwards, and I DIDN'T NOTICE!!  He wore them like that the whole day.  To my credit, the shirt he wore hung down enough that it wasn't THAT noticeable...

I also lay my kids' clothes out and they dress themselves, but when my daughter was in kindergarten she went to school wearing her pj top with jeans.  According to my DH, he didn't notice .  I'm sure her teacher nominated us for parents of the year !

At least in your case, only you and Reece know he did it!

That is so something my 4-year old would do. He wore my stockings-MY STOCKINGS!-under shorts the other day and asked if he could go to Wegmans like that. He also wore his underwear to the dinner table-on his head-the other night, and regularly wears at least 2 different shirts to school. They usually don't match, and he almost always insists on wearing whichever one is smaller on the outside. He's got a great sense of humor though and a fierce independent streak, so I just regularly have to explain to people that he dresses himself lol!

Now see my girls always dressed themselves, and quite often the youngest would go out in fuzzy pajamas, with a skirt over it and with snow boots. I used to just tell people when I got that look, "I refuse to go on welfare, and so I can only afford clothes or pajamas and pajamas make more sense, wanna buy me a gallon of milk?"

Oh I've got you beat on this one!

My son has a tendancy to remove his underwear when he uses the bathroom (and then leave them behind the toilet ). So one day he comes home from school in 2 pairs of underwear!  My husband is 100% positive he sent him in just one pair and my son ultimately fesses up that he found the second pair behind the toilet at school, knew they were his and just put them on.  here's the kicker - they were under the ones he left the house in that morning!!!

2 things:

*I wonder what the teacher thought he was doing in the bathroom that long and

*why they were still there - perhaps the classroom bathrooms don't get cleaned as much?  EW!

I was taking my oldest to her Kindergarten orientation (first day- short day) and she was all dressed up in her cutest little sundress. I am pulling out of the driveway when I looked in the rearview mirror and realized she was au naturel under her dress! "Maya, where are your panties? " "I don't know. I am so excited I guess I forgot!" Thank goodness I caught that BEFORE we got to school!

Fast forward to the last day of school picnic for that school year, where I now have my Kindergartener, a 3-year-old,and a 2-week old. My middle girl has very sensitive skin & food allergies (tree nuts), and had gotten in to some brownies with walnuts in them given to us by a neighbor as a "welcome, baby" gift earlier that week, with a resulting on again/ off again hives rash. Well, she started flaring up & getting itchy at the park, and we left in a hurry to get her home, in the tub (in case she had gotten in to something at the park),and Benadryled up. Well, shortly after we get home there is a mother of  fellow Kindergarteners at the door with her daughters, holding a pair of panties and reporting that my middle girl had taken them off on the top of the slide at the park, and left them there!  Jeez, nice supervision, Mom!

My girls dress themselves daily.  My youngest always has some interesting outfits...interesting hairdo's too...I insist that I brush her hair, but if she wants to put 50 clips in it, so be it.  I really think it's an independence thing and if she wants to wear pants with a skirt over it and a longsleeve shirt with a shortsleeve shirt over it, that's fine by me.  If she wants to wear something that it's too cold for, I just tell her that she needs to wear something warm under it.

Now the underwear stuff you ladies list is pretty funny!
